To take a paragliding course you don’t need any previous experience or knowledge, just a desire to start in the wonderful world of paragliding.
Our teaching method is based on:
In the case of two-seaters, the student will fly accompanied by the instructor who will give instructions during the flight.
Once the previous phase has been completed, all courses end with flights made from the Montsec take-offs with altitude differences of between 400 and 1000 metres. At all times the student is in radio contact with the take-off and landing instructors, who will indicate the maneuvers to perform.
Between the practical classes, several theoretical sessions are held in which the necessary knowledge is imparted to complete the practical training.
The objective of the introductory course is for the student to acquire elementary knowledge to fly. Later you can complete the improvement course in which you acquire the knowledge to reach full autonomy as a pilot.
Who is it addressed to?
For those people who want to start paragliding.
Objectives:
Reach the paraglider piloting level necessary to be able to perform high-altitude flights with the instructor’s radio assistance.
Duration of the course:
Its duration is set between 4 and 5 days, depending on the modality chosen and the weather conditions.
Prerequisites:
No knowledge of flying is necessary, just have the desire and normal physical conditions.
The minimum age of the student will be 12 years, and as long as he is under age, parental authorization will be required for the activity.
What does the course include?
Course development:
Due to the weather conditions in the area, the practical sessions are carried out from early in the morning until late in the morning, and from mid-afternoon until dark.
This is because during this stage we need gentle breezes to help us master the paraglider, avoiding strong winds that would prevent us from controlling the sail. At noon, the theoretical sessions take place, in which those aspects that will allow us to better understand paragliding flight are specified. In general, they dedicate between 6 and 8 hours a day to learning.
First day
The first day will be spent on the so-called school slope, which is an open field of about 10 hectares, which also has a slight incline that makes it easier for us to do the exercises.
Second day
The two-seater method allows the student to practice turns, field approaches and landings accompanied by a monitor. During the flight the monitor will correct the piloting of the paraglider.
Control of the paraglider on the ground. A didactic two-seater flight.
Third and Fourth day
Mountain flights (from 500 to 1000 m.). We will travel by vehicle from the school to the flight. We are going to carry out the culminating experience of the course. The school assigns us the instructor for take-off and landing, and it’s time to take off with a run down a gentle slope located at the top of Montsec. Inflate the paraglider, control, race and… let’s fly!! Now there is no doubt that the effort spent in the first days has been worth it. We are almost 1000 m. above the ground paragliding with the birds, and it is we ourselves who carry our own wings!!
Precise instructions from the instructors will make it easier for us to enjoy this flight, make a correct approach and make a perfect landing.
Normally 5 mountain flights will be made, but if the weather conditions prevent this, the duration of the course will be extended by one day. Teaching is personalized, respecting at all times the abilities of each student, which can mean longer learning in some cases.
